We are the non-profit organization running baseball and softball programs in Needham. Needham Baseball & Softball has been operating in Needham since 1953 under charters granted by Little League Baseball, Incorporated and Babe Ruth League, Inc. Every year we have more than 1,000 boys and girls playing baseball in our leagues.
Our mission is to teach the games of baseball and softball and instill in our youth a love and lifetime commitment to these games. Along the way, we strive to teach life lessons such as physical fitness, how to be a supportive teammate, respect for others, and good sportsmanship, regardless of ability level or winning records.
Baseball Programs:
Spring Season : (Little League): April through June for all K-16 year olds. 11 - 12 year olds are eligible to particpate in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.
Summer Travel Baseball : Competitive "travel teams" play mid-June through July, for ages 8 - 15 year olds.
Fall Travel Baseball : Competitive "travel teams" play September through October season for 8 - 14 year olds.
Summer Travel Softball: Competitive "travel teams" play July through August for age groups 10U, 12U, 14U, and 18U.
Fall Travel Softball: Competitive "travel teams" play September through October for age groups 10U, 12U,. 14U, adn 18U.
To play in our leagues you must live in Needham, however, if you attend school in Needham and wish to play baseball, we will gladly apply for the required waiver from National Little League Headquarters and with their approval you will be eligible to play in our league.
