All Needham Baseball and Softball volunteers, including coaches, are required to undergo an annual background check prior to assuming their volunteer responsibilities. Coaches and other volunteers must complete a separate registration with Needham Baseball and Softball and provide identifying information in order to facilitate the background checks. If you have not already registered as a coach, please complete the following steps:
1) Go to “Open Registrations”
2) Scroll down to “Coach & Volunteer Registration” and click “Begin Registration”
3) Provide the requested information, which will include:
a) Date of birth (in the requested format)
b) Social security number (in the requested format) – please note that SSNs are encrypted for security purposes
c) Uploaded copy of a drivers license or passport – please note that you may not be required to do this if ID was uploaded in a previous year (you should see a note indicating “File already uploaded”)
4) Click “Submit” to complete the registration process.
Head coaches are responsible for making assistants aware of the background check requirement and ensuring that they register.
The current list of coaches for which background checks have been completed can be viewed here. Registration will remain open throughout the season; however, coaches and other volunteers are not permitted to assume their responsibilities until the required background check has been completed.
